| The Mulcahy & Viney literary agency was established in 2002 and operates from Kensington in Central London. The company's primary service is to sell books to publishers, but the agency also provides a range of services that include the selling of film and tv treatments to broadcasters and production companies. The agency is contracted to act for an exceptionally strong range of authors, including academics, adult and children's fiction writers, biographers, celebrities, chefs, journalists and presenters. This website provides details on some of the many significant book deals the company has handled recently as well as providing a full list of the agency’s authors. The agency’s authors write in English and are based in several countries, the majority in the UK, the US or Australia. The agency sells World English Language rights for our authors directly (i.e. United Kingdom, North America, Australasia and all other English language editions.) Foreign language rights are handled by the Intercontinental Literary Agency (ILA). We are always hunting for new creative talent, but typically rely on contacts to source this. The agency reads any new material submitted in-house (rather than rely on reader's reports). For this reason we cannot accept unsolicited fiction from authors who have not been published by a mainstream UK, US, Australian or Irish publisher. We also do not accept unsolicited scripts or treatments for TV or film. However we welcome unsolicited non-fiction proposals, submitted according to our guidelines.
