Trish Deseine | Trish Deseine was born in Belfast, living and working in France since 1987 where she freely developed her passion for cooking. Currently France's second bestselling cookery author, Trish Deseine's books are available through much of Europe and in the US.
Her first book Petits Plats Entre Amis won the 2001 Ladurée and Seb prizes and brought a new trend in simple, unfussy cooking and styling to French cook books. Je Veux du Chocolat (2002) won a World Gourmand Award and has to date sold over 200,000 copies worldwide. Mes Petits Plats Préférés (2002) won the French Gourmand Award. Cooking for Kids won the 2004 Hédiard prize and saw her described in Elle as a “phénomène éditoriale”.
Trish Deseine's follow-up to Je Veux du Chocolat, Du Caramel Plein la Bouche, was hailed by Paris Match as a “hymn to gluttony”.
With her Petite Robe Noir (2006), Trish Deseine became the first non-French author to win France's most prestigious cookery prize, the Prix La Mazille at the Périgueux Cookbook Festival. Ma Petite Robe Noir also won Best French Cookbook and a Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Gourmand Awards.
She is also a regular contributor to French food pages.
Nobody Does it Better, which asserts the continuing preminence of French cuisine, was published by Kyle Cathie in 2007.
